Sublime Point Lookout
Sublime Point Lookout offers 180 degree views over the sea, the rainforest and the 17 beaches that span the coastline to Wollongong.
Bald Hill Lookout
Bald Hill is one of Illawarra, Australia’s most well known and most popular lookouts situated a top the hill of that name. Not only are the views excellent, the area is also internationally known as a major hang gliding point.
It was on the beach below Bald Hill that Lawrence Hargrave, an Australian pioneer of flight, made a successful flight on 12 November 1894. A memorial cairn dedicated to him has been erected at the peak of the hill near the car park.
Wollongong Harbour’s Breakwater lighthouse has been inactive since 1974 (a decorative light is displayed on special occasions). It stands 12 metres (40 feet) high and has a tapered round wrought iron tower with lantern, painted white. The lighthouse was seriously deteriorated before a restoration in 1978 and 1979 stabilised its condition. Lots of photo opportunities here!
Sea Cliff Bridge
The 665 metre Sea Cliff Bridge is a highlight along the Grand Pacific Drive. The bridge has become an icon to the people of Wollongong and the world, once again welcoming tourists annually to this picturesque coastal road.
